Friday Night Fish Fry!

One of my favorite past times when in the Caribbean, is to hit up a local Fish Fry. Come Friday night, every island has at least a handful of locations offering tourists and locals alike, a taste of the day's catch, fried to perfection and served with all sorts of mouth watering sides.

The Anse La Raye Fish Fry in Soufriere, St. Lucia is one of the most popular ones, held right on the public beach in a casual, rustic style. 

Many local Caribbean restaurants participate as well. We recently were sent this flyer below for the Yachtsman Grill in Nevis: 

Looks like a delightfully good deal so be sure and plan on spending your next Friday in Nevis enjoying a tasty fresh fish feast. 

Where is Nevis? Nevis is one of the Lesser Antilles, located close to its sister island of St. Kitts. How to get to Nevis? You can fly direct to the island on many different carriers... American Airlines having the most flights.

A New Ritz Carlton Coming to Puerto Rico

The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company will open Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, in December 2012 in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico. The 114-room property will be located on a secluded, three-mile outcrop along Puerto Rico’s Caribbean coastline and encompass 1,400 acres.


Accommodations will include 100 guestrooms and 14 one-bedroom suites, all located directly on the beach, and Su Casa, an original plantation hacienda renovated to its original 1920s style as a five-bedroom beachfront VIP villa available for weddings and private parties. The resort will be the company’s first Reserve property in the Americas.

Barbados Food, Wine, & Rum Festival

Mark your calenders! The 2011 Barbados Food, Wine, & Rum Festival is set for November 18to 21, 2011. This is one of the Caribbean's best parties and certainly the most palate pleasing.

Kid's Stay & Eat Free in GRENADA!

Grenada's Blue Horizons Garden Resort is offering families a Kid’s Stay & Eat Free plan offering free stays for children under age 16 plus free stays and meals for children 12 and under (maximum two kids per room). Off-season rates for a deluxe one-bedroom suite start at $165 per room, based on double occupancy.

For families seeking an adjoining suite, Blue Horizons is also offering a 50 percent discount off a second room for kids 16 years and under. The 32-room property also provides free babysitting for two hours per stay. The free stays and meals for children are valid for travel through Dec. 15, 2011.
